You also have to set the variable. Make two buttons on your Xbox device, they can be on a hidden page if you like. Then you can add these buttons in your macros.
Power On Button
If XBOX POWER = 0 (Variable state 0 on the macro)
xbox power command
Set XBOX POWER =1
Else (Variable state 1 on the macro)
Do Nothing
Power Off Button
If XBOX POWER = 1 (Variable state 1 on the macro)
xbox power command
Set XBOX POWER =0
Else (Variable state 0 on the macro)
Do Nothing
