I am assuming that he has an MX850 in the main room and would like to be able to program a second remote for the bedroom while utilizing the bedroom remote for zone 2 functions or as a second/spare remote for the main rooms utilizing the MRF.
Am I even close?
If so, hand propgrammed URC remotes are your only cheaper option but they are a pain in the ass.
Just get a good deal on an 850 or 900
