that is easy to control. combo players SUCKbut can be
made to work somewhat.

That is a workaround for sure, but that also means that if the DVD player is OFF, then you turn it back ON just so you can turn it OFF again. In the case of my A1, the macro would have to be very long because it takes the A1 a long time from coming on to be able to accept new commands.

As for the A1, I had to be an early adopter with this one. And with the long wait time for it, it is easier to have its OFF command just turn it off and return to the main menu. That way a novice user will just think they didn't press the OFF button hard enbough and press it again which then turns off the system.
