Yeah. I just programmed my first MX900 today (have done lots of other brands and about three URCs before). I put the OFF macro on the OFF button of the WATCH page. I would say that, since you have a main OFF button, you don't need any device commands on the OFF button anywhere except on the WATCH page. So put a macro on the OFF button of each device that turns off the system and then flips to the WATCH page.
