I just purchased an MX850 and it will not download any file to it. I'm using an adapter, serial to usb. Also using Windows XP SP2. My motherboard is DFI LAN party board without a serial port.

I own a B&K audio/video receiver, and the remote for it is a little old, so i thought i would get a new one. It's an MX 700 repainted. It will download files to it from the B&K software or the MX850 software using the usb to serial adapter. However, the new MX850 will not accept a download from it's software at all. Keeps telling me bad com port or bad wire/connection.

Any of you guys know how I can remedy this?
