I followed the instructions and understand what to do,
but I'm thinking I need to do something a little different
for my scenario. For a simple test, I set up the "favorites"
activity with just 4 buttons on page 1. I used the supplied
(Red, Green, Yellow and Blue) blank rectangular buttons
(for an HR20 DVR). I went into the browser to assign
the codes to those buttons, but how do I then get those
buttons onto my DirecTV DVR "device"? When I try to do
a "Copy a command for one device and paste it into another
device or activity", my "Favorites" activity doesn't show
up in the list. I noticed that when creating an activity,
it only gives you the icon/logo screen if you have "Favorites"
in your activity name, so I'm thinking that's somehow
related.
You've run into a limitation on the 810. You can only do custom icons on activity pages because the favorites function is for an activity. In the device, you will have to use text. However, this is only a minor limitation, because I'm guessing you'll almost always use the activity and not the device.
