Does your receiver not a have a zone 2 or multiroom feature? If so you just use the Zone 2 off button let the amp idle. of course you could plug into the switched outlet on the Yamahopper and it will turn on/off with the receiver. Don't over think it.
Use the URC (850 or 900 both great), Harmony, blech. No customization what-so-ever.
