Glenn,

So you are going to buy a NAS have it controlled by the
DSM-540 and the both will interface with twonkyvision.

Correct.
Have you used the DSM-540 yet? When I used the unit it
would not play the albums in numerical order it played
albums in alphabetical order.

No I haven't. But from what I read it seems the "best" there is for the moment for a reasonable price. It also does a lot of formats. I'd like to be able to stream VOB files so I can see my ripped dvd's full resolution. Although the price is a bonus, if you have a better alternative which is more expensive I will certainly consider it.
Basically, I expect it to be able to stream video and audio and pictures. To more formats the better and, as mentioned above, it preferably needs to be able to stream VOB files.

You can use the MX3000 remote
as you will have to learn the IR codes from the DSM-540
and watch what you are doing on your TV Screen.

OK. Would you say the MX3000 is a better remote compared to the TSU-9600?

If you
take a look at the Nevo remote thru the Wi-Fi it will
also control the DSM-540 and will even show the photos
and album art (the Cover of the CD) on the screen. I am
not sure about it displaying the movies.

Thanks for the info. To bad it's an IPAQ. Why can't they put this software on an MX3000 or a TSU-9600? I can't be the only one wanting such a device? Am I?

Best,
Glenn
