After I waited for almost 1 year on the RC9800i to be released in Europe I finally managed to get one. First impression, look and feel, was great but ran into loads of problems quickly.

1) After the initial setup I was not able to add anymore devices. No matter what I tried I could not fix this problem and had to reset the device.
2) The procedure for resetting the device (i.e. returning to the original state of the device) didn't execute properly. The device freezed!
3) When I switched the device off and on I was not able to select the European region anymore.
4) Most remote controls were not recognised.
5) Activities that I could select were limited and didn't work correct (problem with input selection).
6) Adding a Cable Receiver was not succesfull. The remote control didn't recognise it as a TV source.

To make a long story short... I returned the remote control as I don't want to become a test-user. Philips fix your software problems!
