I'm looking at buying this unit, but from what I've read, I feel that the "activity" macros are not very flexible. For example... I have a VCR with 3 inputs... 1 is my DVD, another is my cable, and the 3rd is my computer. The VCR starts up on the last channel it was on... whether it be channel 3, line 1, etc. My VCR has only one button on its remote to select "Line ins"... and rotates through the 3 of them. To go to line 2 for example, the RC9800 would need to be programmed to turn the VCR on, change the VCR to any channel, say channel 1... then send 2 "line in" commands. It needs to change to channel 1 first, because if the VCR started up in "line 1"... and the remote sent 2 "line in" commands, it would end up in line 3... not line 2 like I wanted!

Does this make any sense? Basically, I would like to know if I can write my own macros... command by command. If I can't do it with this device, can anyone recommend a similiar device, preferably with colour touch screen, etc.
