Ok, so it looks as though the Mac OS X version of NetRemote (or similar app) question didn't go over well with everyone, so I'm going to try this again, only differently...

My thinking has evolved to look at X10 and/or HTML-to-IR/RF ways to approach the same challenge, which is:

How can I control all of my AV stuff (plus other household goodies as a bonus) with my Mac via a wireless 802.11 network connection?

My head starts to hurt more the deeper I go into this thing, so I'm looking for the plainspeak solution to:

1. What is the app on my Mac?
2. What is the connection from wireless router/hub (airport with hub) to my AV equipment?
3. How do these things communicate?
4. How do these things translate the information sent from my Mac into something that my AV equipment can recognize, i.e. IR codes?

An help for a confused soul would be appreciated,

Mark
