The button does not have to be displayed. Just create a new device that's hidden. Make a button and just assign it with a hundred or so different macros. Then anywhere else on your remote, you want to execute that macro, just provide a link to it.

A LINK just provides the functionality of the macro. A JUMP takes you to the page. Therefore, if you want, it'll just perform the macro and leave you on the page you're on.
