Thanks for the response. I think I'm going to pick one up for the 3000 and solely use the IR emitters.
Aside from the programming bug you discovered that slowed down your remote, is there any slow down from trasmitting to the extender, converting the beam to ir, then sending it to the device compared to just normal ir beaming to the device?
