Go to the Discrete Hunter forum on this web site and do a search on Hitachi. You may get an answer about your power there. This was copied from one of the responses....

I'm sure someone else has thought of this before, but I came up with a work-around for my Hitachi 61SWX10B rear projection HDTV "power on". As almost everyone knows, Hitachi TVs are almost all TOADs. I'm trying to find discrete codes with some help in this forum, but for now, I came up with a work-around, at least for "power on".

The Hitachi RPTVs have a setting in setup that will turn on the TV and set it to the DVD input when it detects a signal from a DVD player. In fact, just turning on the DVD will also turn on the TV if it is off and do nothing to the TV if it is already on. Fortunately, my Panasonic DVD RP91 has discrete on and off codes. So, I have set up my power on macro to first turn off the DVD (in case it is already on) then power on the DVD. The TV will then turn on and set itself to the DVD input. Then you only need to set the TV to the desired input (for watching cable TV, I have it set to Video1, which is a discrete input on my Hitachi).
