On mine hitting "input mode" scrolls through the various input types. The 4802 has a dedicated analog key on the remote (you might try stealing the code from a 4802 CCF) puts the receiver into analog input mode. Then hitting the "input mode" button places it in auto mode. Auto selects DD/DTS based on the input stream type or it selects PCM or analog and uses the last mode you had set for that input -- stereo, direct, PL II, Neo:6 or whatever.
