I have a 4802 and setting input mode to auto just allows it to automatically select the input mode -- DD/DTS bitstream, PCM or analog. It also remembers the last decoding mode which was selected on a given input -- Neo:6 movie or cinema or DPL II movie or cinema.
I just set my music inputs to DPL II music and my video to Neo:6 cinema and everything works fine. Don't know how the 3802 works.
