"Couldn't those steps be put in a power up macro for the Denon receiver!!!"
That is what I am trying to do. Seems like the receiver has only one button for Dolby and DTS surround modes. It is labeled something Like"DD/DTS" if I remember correctly. It seems to be a toggle, not descrete inputs for DD and DTS, or any surround mode for that matter. For instance, there is not a button that says, "NEO 6" or "DTS-EX".
Both on the remote and the receiver itself, there is a button for "Auto". This supposedly sets the receiver to decode the incoming signal. Or at least that is how I understand it. So I thought that if in the macro I program "Auto", the receiver should default to the incoming signal. The problem I have is that it often sets to DTS and the DVD is in DD.
I assume I am missing something with respect to the Denon and not setting something correctly. Or that the 5 sec delay I have for the receiver to recognize the incoming signal is too short. Or the incoming signal at the beginning of the DVD is not DD. Just not sure what the problem is.
