I thought I would add this for people interested in the Guide.

I am a long time Pronto user, got the TSU1000, and been coming to this site for MANY years, probably earliest visit was around 1999 or so as I came across this site looking a universal remote (perfect place for that). Over the years I have also gone through 2x TSU1000s, 1x TSU2000 (I was more careful with it), and 1x TSU3000 (which I still have but am going to sell this week). I just bought the TSU7500 and LOVE it.

Now I have been programming in ProntoEdit since it first came out (I remember when you had to program on the remote before they released the software, and I can remember all the stupid problems getting it to work with the serial ports). Then I used ProntoEditNG, and got through that learning curve pretty easy and learned some new things and the new ways to do things like transparencies, etc. BIG upgrade.

Now that I have the TSU7500 I was looking at many configurations trying to make the best remote layout I have to date, with slide in objects, FULL jacketed DVD listing, jacketed CD listings, etc. "borrowing" from everyone elses configuration (and the overall look based on Daniel's configuration, like I always have). Now I ran in to a few barriers as I have been trying to do stuff that I haven't done in the past, and I never really jumped both feet into many of the indepth items in ProntoEditNG or ProntoEditProNG. So I thought I would pick up the guide to help me with these areas.

After downloading it, I printed it (duplex 2 pages per side, got to save the enviornment at least a little), and then sat down to read it. I basically was flipping pages from front to back, saying things like "know that", "can do that", "done that", and then bang, the end of the guide. I was scratching my head, hoping for more information on the detailed instructions for very advanced setups, but they just weren't there.

So just to let people know, if you are new to the Pronto, and ProntoEdit (NG versions), than this guide is something that is VERY helpful. Now if you know how to do things like Setting up devices, adding buttons with transparencies, setting up macros, key press lengths, discrete codes, page jumps, etc. then I would suggest you might save your money. I don't regret buying it, I don't mind throwing money towards a fellow user for something that's very helpful for starters, but if you used ProntoEdit with the TSU1000 or TSU2000, there really isn't a lot of extra information in this guide to warrant NEEDING to purchase it. Now it does give great information, and if you jump in to ProntoEditNG (or Pro), and it looks like greek over the ProntoEdit, then I suggest it, but if you have done a configuration for the TSU3000/3500 or TSU7000/7500, then you might not need the guide.

I am just trying to help save some users some extra money, with some information I wish I had before buying it.
