Ye, almost all of the cable/sat boxes seem to be easily over-saturated with "direct-attached" IR emitters.

Some guys open the case and actually put the emitter inside the box. Solves the problem of them falling off but may cause another problem if the box needs to be swapped out.

I like the connecting blocks which offer high-powered IR outputs. I then use the high-powered blasters and eliminate the entire stick-on mess. Makes installation easier and neater.

These blasters are very strong and will often cover an entire rack with one, possibly two, high-powered blasters. I have had good success with the Niles IRB1 high-powered blasters and their MU250 connecting block. Xantech makes some as well.
