Just received my nice new Pronto, however I find it does
not work. :(

Following instructions I put the battery in and got no
beeps or anything, so I thought flat battery as it came
in from the USA to Australia, so I plugged in an appropriate
charger (it came with a 110v plugpack), and left it plugged
in for half an hour (I figured long enough to see it at
least come to life for a short time), but still nothing.

Checked the battery voltage and it's sitting around 4.5v
, so it's close enough to the 4.8v that's marked on the
pack, so it's not the batteries.

I'm guessing I've either missed something, or it is DOA,
so before I send it back I thought I should ask in here
first. :)

For a full charge to take place, you should leave it on the docking station 2 to 3 hours. With that, why don't you give a second chance before returning it.
