To clarify on this subject...

There are separate zone 1-3 discrete power codes AND a master power codes for the denon receivers. The master on will turn on the receiver to its last state of operation. If one or more of the other zones was on previously then they will come back on. If they were off they will remain off. It is a cool feature for those using the native remote that always have the same "scene" selected.

The off works like an all zone off. I am not sure if the return to last state feature is a function of the Master on or Master off command.
