I've never seen a Sony non-jukebox CD player with mechanical power switch that responded to any sort of remote power codes. I think only the jukebox models do.
If you really want to turn it off at times, look into a switched outlet/module (X-10 or other), or perhaps your receiver has a switched outlet you can use...
