I will chime in with a resounding yup for linked codes as well. It may be a bit more work in the beginning but it will pay off later.

Some suggestions... design a page of small rectangular blank buttons first that you will use as a template for creating hidden code pages. Create one button initially with all of the properties that you desire and then copy and paste the button repeatedly to fill up the page. Make sure to order the buttons logically as they are created because when you create a link, the available buttons will be displayed in the order that they were initially created. This will make your life easier especially with groups of like commands (0-9, input commands, etc...) that you are likely to place together.
For example... if the first button created was at the top left of your page and the last button you created was right next to it, the first button would appear at the top of the link list while the button next to it would appear at the bottom. This really sucks if you assigned 1 and 2 respectively to those buttons especially if you are creating channel macros. This at least will reduce the amount of clicking you will have to do.
