The codes are correct, since they work via IR from the
remote.

Philips RF Extender driven DirecTV Receivers
respond sporadically when their output
resolution is set to 720p.

Try locking the DirecTV receiver's
resolution to 1080i, also remove
the little antenna from the back of
the DirecTV box if it has one.

You may need to place a small piece of
black electrical tape over the DirecTV's
IR sensor before installing the Philips
IR emitter. Some DirecTV receivers have
extremely sensitive IR sensors and will
clip/distort the IR signal if it's too strong.

The HR20 DirecTV receiver is the most finicky
when it comes to RF interference and
IR flasher output level.
It gets better all the time.
