Ok, Here is swhat I did to fix my Pronto. I disassembled
the unit. I completely removed the LCD screen, I CAREFULLY
removed the black protective tape from the back of the
display and with the aid of a microscope and small soldering
iron , I reflowed the solder on the flexible circuit conductor.

Before I started I looked for fractured solder joints
but I could not find any. They had to be there but I was
not able to see them. I'll let you know how this works
out,
but right now the Pronto is working better than it has
for sometime. It had been sluggish for a month or so.

As far as doing this repair yourself. You have to have
a microscope and a small tip in your soldering iron. This
is not for a novice, even a person with years of soldering
experience would find this challenging. I have worked
with small surface mount pc boards for years and it was
still tricky. If you can find someone to handle the soldering
work I am fairly positive that you can fix this issue.
If not send me a email and we can talk. I don't really
want a boat load of these things showing up on my door
step. Hopefully this will be a good fix. Time will tell.

This is to fix the non-responsive touch screen? This will not do. What hapened is that you moved the toucscreen ribon and the contact closed again. It will problably stop to work again.
