I'm not entirely sure that I understand you but here is my answer anyway.

The 1/4 of the total panel view that you are talking about is the upper left 1/4 of a device page. Where you would put the most common buttons. The other 3/4 of the page can be revealed by pressing the arrow button in the corner. It does not shrink the total device page to 1/4 of it's origional size, so the buttons will remain the exact same size either way.

With some programming/layout skill you could easily mimic a 1/2 page or 3/4 page effect.


I noticed that after I went back to read my above post that it's damn hard to explain without showing the software at the same time, so It makes sense.
