Thanks Kees but with the hint from Daniel on the file format I think I should be okay. I do not use CorelDraw being an MS bigot (of sorts). The one issue I see with many of the bit maps is transparent backgrounds. I know there was a simple way to convert a bmp into something (I think jpg), then there was an app that allowed you to make the background transparent and keep it as a jPEG. Does CorelDraw do all of that. I had it written down at one time.
