Remember also that when you buy something like this from the US then on arrival in Europe you should also pay import duty on the cost of the item and then VAT on the cost of the item plus the import duty!
You can pretty quickly bite very heavily into that $800 price differential in that way...
Not saying you shoudn't do it - we're only too aware of the price differential, believe me - but if you do do it then be aware of the possible pitfalls first. We've had a few people contact us over TSU3000's that have been bought from the US and have gone faulty and we can't help ... Philips do have a worldwide warranty policy but it will be up to you to sort it out with them rather that via a dealer.
