Well after waiting a few more hours, I decided to take a risk and reset the iPronto. It did come back up and and said that it was damaged and needed to be restored. The green LED was no longer blinking. It must have lost association to the wifi network the first time I tied to update. It was able to go out to the site and start downloading the update. It hung again trying to download partition 3/6 but another reset got it through. And now it's updated to 1.8.2.
Pretty scary doing a reset during a firmware update but it worked out in the end.
Anyone know when Philips might be swaping out existing wifi cards for new ones? I remember reading something about doing that becasue of issues with the current cards.
Thanks.
