I am very interested in the protocols and formats used by the iPronto to talk to the Netx. I do not have a Netx but am perhaps looking to buy one. If anyone has one for sale drop me a line at [email protected].

I would like to use a PC instead of the Netx. I would like to be able to set the iPronto to operate over Wi-Fi instead of IR, and then setup the PC to receive, and if necessary, acknowledge the transmissions from the iPronto. In that way the PC (or any properly programmed PC on the local wi-fi network) can directly receive the iPronto communications (key press data). If I can achieve this, it opens up the iPronto for Home Automation and many other uses in the house without having to worry about an IR repeater network.

My whole Home Theater control system is based on a PC receiving (currently via IR) a command (button press/ Screen touch) from the iPronto. The PC then handles all further activities of transmitting IR or RS232 to components or dealing with other networked systems. The pronto is programmed using only NEC IR formats, and device codes I choose.

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated and I am willing to assist in funding such a research project/endeavor.
