i see your point but, alot of the good movies are on bluray
and nov. 17 there will be 1 million bluray players in
peoples homes,in one day. ps3!

I'm not going to go into sabre rattling and "My Spectrum is better than your C64 arguments" but Dan, that is a silly statement.

A lot of goods movies are on both formats.

Technically both are about equal. HD-DVD had a codec advantage but thats slowly eroding. At present there are more HD-DVD movies and the dual release movies have a better PQ on HD-DVD. At moment HD-DVD is region free but in about a year it prob won't be.

Not every PS3 will be used for watching BD movies. It's safe to say that each HD-DVD 360 drive will.

It will all come down to the number of media sold. Once a single format gets a decent foothold studios that are camped in one format will start releasing films on both formats and that will be the beginning of the end.

But then only a small % of PS3 users need to start buying BD media for this to happen. But how many will?

At present I'm backing HD-DVD and if BluRay catches on I'll buy a BD recorder and use that to watch movies.
