Hi!

Today i did an interessting observation:

I downloaded an i-linux cd iso-image. And installed an pre-compiled zImage on the ipronto. As it was to expect the kernel did not work. I reset the ipronto and entered the "bios". set all values to update the firmware. After turning off my jana2 ipronto did the update from the philips server and now it is working fine again.

So The update process is executed from the bios and can't disdurped by the installed os.

This give you more freedom to try changings in the OS without being afraid of make your ipronto unuseable.

@satscan: you managed to enable ftp. I am not an unix specialist but i guess this is done in the zImage. Would you share it?
