I'm not sure what beyond the basic specs (memory, etc.) makes it cheaper. All I know is the Neo has a bunch of excellent hard buttons. The 2000 might have a bigger screen, but you end up using a lot of real estate to make up for the hard buttons built into the Neo. I've had mine for about 4 months now, and all I've got to say is, the Neo is awesome! My wife agrees. And that's REALLY saying something!
