This works. I have now saved two this way. Both calibrated first pass after putting the units back together. It appears that the connector on one of the cables (TS) is carbon coated. This is the one I believe was causing the problem. This should work for any of the Pronto series controls that exhibit this problem as I assume they all use similar connectors on the touch screen (TS).

Open the remote by removing the four T7 (torx) screws and carefully pop open the case. Two of the screws are behind the label. The parts are all pretty much just sitting in the case. The connectors for the LCD and TS are opened to release the cables by sliding the latches towards the cable. A small flat blade screwdriver works well. Be careful, if you break the latch, the cable will no longer stay in the connector and the remote is well, something to hold papers down with. Carefully wipe the connector ends, (I also cleaned the screen while it was out). Alcohol works well for cleaning the connectors.

Reassemble and test. Best of luck.
