I've found an old picture of a cable layout:
you need:
1 Sub-D9 Female connector
1 Jack Stereo Ø2,5mm
if you number the D9 as follows:
5 4 3 2 1
9 8 7 6
And if you call the layout of the Jack as follows:
/ \ = A
You need to connect:
2 with A
3 with B
5 with C

Thanks for that! I felt I had to register to post about how accurate your description was. I've had a 9 Pin Din to 3 pole 3.5mm lying about from an old Canon digital camera but didn't want to plug it in incase of damage. After using a multimeter to check that the pin assignments were the same (some sort of agreed standard perhaps?) I couldn't be happier! Now for some sever customisation lol
(Remember boys and girls, never plug cables into your preciouse equipment without making sure the won't make a loud bang!)
Thanks again Gert-Jan
