and am trying to control it with my Harmony remote
(I did not buy the optional remote). I am unable
to control it, even though I added it as an Activity

I used Model #: A1153 to represent the Universal

I just added the Apple iPod Universal Dock to my account over the weekend, and added the codes that I learned from the original Apple remote. I'm not sure how long it takes for it to get added to the Harmony database, but you can try to find it.
