I started with the A20 Toshiba HD DVD player. Then, I discovered I didn't care for the titles that were available and the prices were ridiculously high.
There were Blu Ray bogo sales everywhere and so I bought the Panasonic BD30 player and went neutral.
I've now bought mostly Blu Ray titles because of the great disk 1/2 price sales as we get closer to Christmas and STILL the HD DVD camp won't release much of anything I want and hasn't tried to combat BR with their own bogos.
With list prices for disks running 25$ to 40$ there's no way I'll pay those prices for HD DVDs so I'm grabbing up desireable BD titles at 1/2 price while I can.
As an old laserdisk collector I remember the pricing climbing steadily, even as sales increased. When the winner of this ridiculous competition rises to the top disk prices will also rise so I may as well pick up as much media as I can before that happens.
I guess I'm saying I've gone Blu, but I find it very unsatisfactory.
