Wow. This sounds like a nightmare.

It seems like I am lucky and got one that does not have this problem. I checked every button on the unit by turning off the display with the "glow" button after I pressed each one. All of my buttons definitely work, being pressed with normal force.

My remote came directly from Amazon. If you anyone got theirs from another seller, it would probably be in a different batch.
