I had my 880 freeze up last week where no buttons worked, the LCD screen was barely readable (although if you punched any button the screen would go dark, then half-lit, then dark, etc) and it was essentially turned into a piece of wood. Started the service call thing, but then I actually read a FAQ that worked: Get on the owners homepage, and before you plug the USB cable into the 880, take the battery out of the remote, and THEN plug the USB cable in. It explains that the power from the USB cable will bypass the battery and power up the 880. This woke up the 880 and lit up the screen. I plugged the battery back in and did an update, and voila...good as new. Just keep that in the back of your mind if your Harmony ever goes dead.
