Having a backup feature doesn't sound like a bad idea, actually. I really don't like the idea that Logitech has all the information in their system. It's nice that they can access it and help people faster, but I'm dependent on it staying there permanently. Suppose their servers crashed, or got hacked and/or erased somehow...then it's back to square one.
