Since no one was able to comment on this I decided to try out a Harmony remote and see if it was possible.
I purchased the inexpensive Harmony 550 and was able to program it for the DigiLinx system. I didn't have to learn the codes from the NetStreams remote because all of the IR functions were already in the Harmony database.
This is a good solution for the money as I can control the local room's audio as well as any other devices in the room. I can even invoke macros that were programmed into the DigiLinx system. It is certainly better than the limited 10 button NetStreams remote. Probably not as good as an RF remote, but for the money I don't think you can beat it.
