"Harmon/Kardon AVR 247 receiver along with The Bridge iPod dock" isn't something you come across every day!
Looks like for the first three weeks you were very unlucky to get Logi people who didn't know about it, then struck lucky.
This shows that with Logi persistence can be needed, and you were admirably persistent.
Good you like the Harmony anyway and are among the majority who find it easy.
