You can't do that with a RF setup.
Very true.., but to me the greatest advantage to a RF system is the care free use of your remote. No need to worry about aim. Which is something that still needs to be done with a repeater. This of course would mean nothing to you, seeing as you were the one who installed the IR receiver to begin with. However, the dreaded babysitter/house guest would have no clue. With no components in view they would be lost as to where to aim. Assume the worst and imagine them waving the remote around hoping to get lucky, while the macro/sequence fires away. Missing this, getting that. Sure you have the help button for missed commands, but still have the initial problem of where to aim.
IMHO, if you have the option, go RF.
