When you say they sent a new unit - did that include the remote and cradle and battery? If a brand new one does the same thing - try a different outlet in a different room just to rule that out. The only other thing that's common to both old and new is the firmware, and someone else is having a similar battery problem so it's possible the firmware has a bug in it. Try redownloading the firmware - they just fixed another problem so there is a new version available.
