There is a prominent up/down arrow toggle in the top section with the menus. Since there is also a full cursor control wheel just below, this up/down toggle is not naturally needed for most devices. The software defaults to leave it blank or to use it to duplicate an already available function (like chapter +/- for a DVD player). I have programmed it to punch through to the video selection toggle (up) and the picture size toggle (down) on my TV for all activities. You could do the same with any audio toggle control. This is not as useful as full menu controls, but if you need these you can got to the TV or A/V receiver via the device list.
