Discretes are always better!!! In the perfect world every A/V product would have every feature with a discrete code and toggles would only exist for some small button count, non macro, come with the unit in the box, remotes. Even the seasoned A/V button pushin' people should not have to second guess that their unit in the cabinet is on or off, in the right audio or video input, in the right surround mode, in the right aspect ratio, in HD or SD (I could go on and on).
We need to somehow get through to these manufacturers that hidden discrete commands for all function are needed.
Discrete commands and macros.... rah rah rah!!!
