If the URC-8810w has the right setup code then the URC-6012w also does.

In other situations, the 8810w has a number of advantages over the 6012w, but nothing in what Jon said above indicates any of those advantages matter in this case.

The 6012w costs less. It has been consistently in stock at every Walmart I've visited, while the 8810w is frequently out of stock and I think some Walmarts don't carry it at all. The 6012w is also smaller (easier to operate one handed).
