Is there any devices I should try for MCE discrete commands?

Those Pronto Hex samples you posted decode as MCE device=0.28 functions 54, 1, 7, and 2.

Neither that device number nor the function numbers match those in any CCF file I have for MCE TV's.

You could use MakeHex/IrPanels to generate all 256 possible commands for MCE:0.28 and test them and see what they do. First read warning at:

MakeHex is at:

IrPanels is at:

If you look on here you can see that it says to use Philips,
but isnt that RC6?

RC5 is a Philips protocol used by many Philips TV's.

RC6 is both a family of related Philips protocols and a specific protocol. That specific RC6 protocol is used by other Philips TV's (and some Philips TV's accept both RC5 and RC6 commands).

The MCE protocol is a Microsoft IR protocol that is in the Philips RC6 family of IR protocols. MCE is used by several brands of TV, but so far as I know, not by any Philips TV's.

Dell may have programmed this TV to support a second IR code set in order to make it usable with universal remotes, most of which don't support MCE.
