in order to get discrete
codes I bought a One For All Universal Remote (I think
model # started with 8

Some Pioneer discrete codes can be programmed on some OneForAll models without a JP1 cable. (It's always easier with a JP1 cable). If you tell me which OFA model and which Pioneer Discrete codes, I can tell you how/whether you can do them without a JP1 cable or whether you need the cable.

and use the DV-46 or DV-48 files.

I tried following those instructions, but didn't know the steps in between that link and the models you mentioned.

I found the DV-46AV codes. Those include
Standby/On = A3 99 - AF BC
OFF = A3 99 - AF BB
Play = A3 9E
Is that the code set you meant?

Marshall, if you found the discrete codes you want in Pronto Hex, or in the format I gave here, please either quote them in one of those two formats or provide a direct link. I can translate to OFA codes, but I need to know what I'm translating from.
