I am overwhelmed by the information on this site. And after setting up my first home theater in 2002 (with great help from this site), I can't believe that all manufacturers products don't come with discrete on/off buttons right out of the box.

Anyway, my first bit of HT equipment has died and I replaced it with the Pioneer 400V DVD player. I don't have a Pronto remote control. I use a MX-500 (bought about 5 years ago with help from this site and I love it). When I was first programming my MX-500, in order to get discrete codes I bought a One For All Universal Remote (I think model # started with 8 -- it's at my house and I'm at work right now). Anyway, I was able to program something into my One For All remote and then was able to learn that to the MX-500.

So, I was hoping that someone could tell me how to program the on/off discrete functions for the Pioneer 400V without using the Pronto remote.
